Welcome to Trauma Melbourne
Introducing a new online home for trauma-informed information and a guided path to the right support.
We're pleased to introduce Trauma Melbourne, a new online home built to help people across Melbourne understand trauma, learn what support is available, and find a path towards the right kind of help.
What you'll find on the site
- Understanding Trauma: plain-language information on what trauma is, common responses, and signs it may be time to seek support.
- Types of Therapy: an overview of evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches and what to expect from a session.
- Getting Help: a step-by-step guide to the pathway to support, including GPs, Mental Health Treatment Plans, and the difference between a psychologist, psychiatrist, and counsellor.
- Find Your Path: a short, gentle set of questions that points you towards the kind of support that best fits how you're feeling right now.
- Crisis support: if you need help right now, our crisis support page lists 24/7 lines you can call.
A guided, not a diagnostic, tool
The Find Your Path flow is designed to point you in a helpful direction. It is not a diagnosis tool, and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere. It simply links you through to pages and support options that may suit what you're going through.
We'll use this space to share news and updates about the site, and in time, articles on trauma-informed topics. If you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it through our contact page.
